In-database analytic scoring has arrived for IBM DB2 thanks to SAS.

And that means faster, and better, business decision-making for the enterprise.

The new software, called SAS Scoring Accelerator for IBM DB2, will let users gain the advanced capabilities provided in InfoSphere Warehouse, according to IBM.

"With a tighter integration between IBM Data Warehouse software and systems and the SAS technology, our joint customers will be able to reduce the time required to build and deploy vital business models," says Bob Hoey, IBM General Manager and SAS partnership executive.

The tool lets enterprises centralize data and cut down on date movement. It automates model deployment efforts, reduces latency and complexity while allowing for more complex model use. That leads to more reliable results and proactive evidence-based decisions, say clients.

"SAS and IBM continue collaborating on in-database efforts to create what organizations have longed for: a high-performance analytics deployment platform."

For example, enterprises assessing SAS IBM Power Systems and DB2 enterprise data warehouse discovered it allows for rapid deployment of analytic models, as well as real-time scoring at the point of member engagement.

"SAS scoring processes run inside the IBM data warehouse. As a result, customers can make more accurate and actionable decisions," said Keith Collins, SAS senior VP and CTO.
