More Enterprises Are Making The Switch To IBM

IBM has hit a new record high when it comes to customers moving onto its server and storage systems from competitive platforms

Nearly 400 migrations took place in just the third quarter of this year, and 4,500 enterprises (many of which had been HP or Oracle/Sun customers) moved to Big Blue technology in the last four years, according to an IBM press statement.

According to statistics from the IBM Migration Factor, there have been 481 HP migrations this year.

The number of migrations to IBM Power Systems through the first three quarters of 2010 is hitting 800--which would exceed the total for all of last year by more than 200, says IBM.

In addition, more than 100 clients switched to IBM's System x , z and storage offerings in the third quarter.
