DB2 Update Brings Greater Speed, Cost Savings

IBM's DB2 now provides speedier data access and analysis on IBM System z and that offers business the ability to make better decisions.

It's all due to a new capability, called Time Travel Query, which IBM says will save time and effort in accessing, correlating and integrating data from a wide range of courses.

We're talking performance improvement of 40%, which has to be music to any database adminstrator's ears. On top of that there's a 10-fold jump in scalability.

That means more efficient use of system resources and cost savings, according to IBM.

Efficiency and cost savings is a nice dual benefit to say the least.
